Meet the team – Pamela
Hi, I’m Pamela a senior stylist at Brave Strong Beautiful, I have 9 years experience in hairdressing, as well as a Shaba award!! I joined Brave Strong Beautiful in April 2021 and have been with Brave Strong Beautiful ever since.
I also love supporting my clients whilst achieving their hair goals. In my free time I love to go and have cocktails with my friends, my favourite hairdressing technique to do is highlights. I chose to work at Brave Strong Beautiful because I loved what Kerry was doing to help young people into employment. Social Spotlight
Social Cause or this month is the Social Stories Club, Social Stories Club was started to make an enormous impact on the world. A certified social enterprise gifting company. Co-founders Karis Gill and Aayush Goyal entrepreneurs with shared passion for social impact, gifting and storytelling. They aim to give sustainable hampers filled with high quality products with a fascinating story so people can read about a positive social impact created. They also look to lead by example by offering job opportunities to those furthest from the labour market who pack the sustainable gift hampers whilst paying the living wage to their employees, Aiming to provide 100’000 hours of employment to individuals with barriers to employment in Scotland, their packaging is also made from the most environmentally friendly products available to offset all the carbon that they make from their deliveries to make sure that the harm done to the environment is minimal as possible. Their mission is to introduce receivers to the world of social enterprises through exciting gifts. By connecting the world with the stories they are showing that there is a better way to do business uniting people from all backgrounds including children. NHBF Top 100 Influencer’s 2022 Announced
After successfully launching at year National Hair and Beauty Federation (NHBF) an event to recognise those in the industry that influence, educate and innovate the sector, lots of new faces make the list. Back in July NHBF invited nominations from professionals currently working in the hairdressing, barbering beauty wellbeing or aesthetic industry from an initial list of hundreds of nominations an independent company then analysed the nominations based on followers, engagement and reach to decide the top 100. The winner ended up being Jamie Genevieve, Jamie is a make up artist and beauty influencer NHBF chief executive Richard Lambert says “Jamie Genevieve is one of the biggest beauty influencers that there is it was no surprise that she came straight into number one followed closely by last year’s winner Caroline Hirons” If you want to check out the rest of the list you can see the Full Top 100 Here and the event was also live streamed on NHBF’s YouTube Channel.
Our Year In Reflection
Last Year the cost of living crisis was a difficult time for everyone, however we are proud that we at Brave Strong Beautiful have been able to support and work with our clients in 2022 and hope to be able to do even more in 2023. In 2022 we continued to support young people who face challenges getting into employment by providing training and employment opportunities while providing quality haircuts, the salon has also been recognised for several awards this year one of which is becoming a finalist for the HBA’s hair and beauty awards for the salons high standards, But we still want to more for the community and our clients, we want to create more partnerships to make a social impact on the world for the better. Now the salon is SQA accredited, we are looking to scale up our training academy to provide knowledge, training and hands-on experience to more young people than ever before and have our current apprentices graduate into full time hairstylists by the end of 2023.
